VU2JPN: Mumbai Terror Attack - CIVIL DEFENCE IN ACTION

Immediately after Terror Attack at Mumbai on 26 Nov 2008, at Midnight all Civil Defence Cadets were given SOS call to gather at their own divisional offices as a standby volunteers for civil help.

To deal with the problems during any type of disasters, various services are organised and designed by Civil Defence.

YOU CAN JOIN AND HELP IN CIVIL DEFENCE

Remember what you do in Civil Defence and how well and how soon you do it, can make a real difference in disasters. The price we pay now is the price of freedom.

Civil Defence Services carry a heavy responsibility and they are well trained for that purpose. But these services need citizen who are ready to work and receive training and dedicate themselves for that purpose. You should, therefore,
delay no further, but volunteer for the service of your choice.

If you are physically fit and technical minded you are welcome to join Civil Defence.

Our ancestors have made untold sacrifices to achieve independence, to retain our hard-won freedom, for greater sacrifices may be needed.

Always remember that and do your part in defending the freedom of your motherland by joining Civil Defence.You may obtain detailed Advise at Civil Defence.

There are total 12 services in Civil Defence of which 4 are the major active:

1. Warden Service
2. Casualty Service
3. House Fire Party
4. Control & Communication Service

In Mumbai, we have the additional Teams:

1. QRT = Quick Responce Team
2. RAFF = Rapid Action Flood Force
3. SAR = Search And Rescue Team
4. OCB = Operation Cloud Burst
